Abstract

 The aim of this research is to analyze the relationship of parental functioning, exercised by direct relatives or persons outside the family circle and the perception of support of students with functional diversity of the different schools of the Technical University of Manabí. To study parental functioning, the parental functioning scale was used, aimed at 43 parents and to know the perception of support, an interview was applied to 74 students with functional diversity. As a result of the research it was found that within these families a good parenting function is maintained, for which the good communication and interaction and affective bonds are highlighted; being corroborated by students with functional diversity.
