The present investigation was based on a diagnosis and identification of the needs of the ULEAM Tourist Observatory of the Bahía de Caráquez Extension, which is an institutional research project, created with the purpose of potentiating the tourist destination of the northern area of Manabí that includes the cantons of Sucre, San Vicente, Jama and Pedernales, generating timely, updated and continuous information, based on the monitoring of supply and demand that allows decision-making and the design of strategies that improve its competitiveness. Based on the problem detected, the generation of a database containing the evaluation of the web positioning of the hotel companies of the aforementioned destination is proposed, which is proposed to be structured in three strategic phases: the first phase of the diagnosis conceived by the construction of a database containing the list of hotel companies in the four cantons; the second phase in order to verify the web presence (Website, social networks and OTAs) of the companies that provide hotel services; and the third phase to evaluate the web presence of hotel companies through a platform that measures standardized parameters (SEO). At the end, the prototype of the proposed database is presented, which aims to satisfy the need of the ULEAM Tourist Observatory to generate timely and updated information that can be used for future analyzes on the web positioning of hotel companies in the destinations they monitor.
