Abstract

The text discusses the importance of calculus in university education, particularly in engineering and science fields, noting that it is often one of the most difficult subjects for first-year students. The need for teaching strategies that combine conceptual understanding with the development of procedural skills is emphasized, in order to avoid purely mechanical learning. One of the proposed solutions is to implement digital platforms and resources like Lesson Plan by Symbaloo, with the goal of designing more personalized and engaging learning pathways. These tools allow for the integration of various resources (videos, presentations, documents, etc.), tracking student progress, and encouraging active participation. A pre-experimental design was conducted with 42 students, dividing them into a control group and an experimental group. Both a pre-test and post-test were applied to determine if there were significant differences in learning, focusing on the topic of triple integrals. Statistical analysis (t-tests, ANOVA of Welch, and Mann-Whitney U test) showed that the group using the Lesson Plan platform (group B) achieved significantly higher results compared to group A. In conclusion, it is evident that the use of digital resources enhances motivation and the development of mathematical competencies. Furthermore, the ability of these platforms to record and assess each student’s progress in real-time improves feedback and increases autonomy in the learning process. Finally, it is recommended to further investigate variables influencing result dispersion and adapt these tools to meet the diverse needs of students.
