Abstract

This article comprehensively examines the positive impact of recreational and sports activities on the development of coping and problem-solving skills in adolescents facing addictive behaviors. It highlights how these activities not only promote physical health, but also play an important role in the emotional and social well-being of adolescents. Participation in recreational and sports activities promotes a positive self-image, helps in the development of communication skills, and encourages responsible behaviors.

It explores how participation in team sports and outdoor activities provides adolescents with a structured environment where they can learn to manage stress, regulate their emotions, and work as a team. These skills are essential for facing and overcoming challenges, including addictive behaviors. Furthermore, it is highlighted how learning through failure in the context of sporting activities can be especially beneficial for the development of resilience and the ability to solve problems.

The importance of parental and community support is emphasized to facilitate adolescent participation in these activities. Parents and guardians play a significant role in encouraging and facilitating the active participation of adolescents in community sports programs and recreational activities that interest them. The need for adults to be positive models of coping with stress and problem solving is highlighted, which influences the perception that adolescents have of these skills.
