Abstract

The objective of this work is to provide reflections on some of the milestones that have been raised in the search to improve urban public transport through the implementation of intelligent transport systems and intelligent bus stops. The type of research used was bibliographic and the following methods were applied: deductive, inductive and documentary analysis. The evaluation contained recommendations for intelligent transportation systems, tracking and monitoring technology, technological tools passenger assistant, IoT devices and smart buses, to be applied within the context of public transportation in the urban environment. The reflections presented can serve as a basis for the implementation of smart bus stops, smart transportation systems or the development of future projects in cities with a vision of becoming smart.
