Abstract
In the digital age, the curation of digital educational content is positioned as an indispensable
competency for teachers. The effective integration of digital technologies by teachers in primary
schools has become crucial to enhance educational quality and promote continuous training
among educators, where these technologies are integrated to result in a better teaching and
learning process that prepares students for an increasingly digitized world. This article analyzes
the importance of this competency in the current educational context, with special attention to
Guallar's 4S model: search, select, sense-making, and share. Based on a diagnostic assessment
carried out with primary school teachers in the educational district 18-03, Villa Jaragua, areas of
strength and aspects for improvement are identified to optimize the process of digital content
curation and its impact on learning. The main objective of this assessment is to analyze the
perceptions, attitudes, and experiences of teachers regarding the curation of digital content,
identify the factors that influence professional development in this field, and propose practical
recommendations to improve their performance. In a constantly evolving educational
environment, the effective integration of digital technologies by primary school teachers has
become crucial to enhance educational quality and prepare students for a digitized world. In this
study, the challenges and opportunities faced by teachers in Educational District 18-03 of Villa
Jaragua in the adoption of digital technologies were investigated. The main objective of the
assessment is to analyze the perceptions, attitudes, and experiences of teachers regarding the use
of digital technologies, identify the factors that influence their professional development in this
field, and propose practical recommendations to improve their performance. To carry out the
assessment, a mixed-methods approach was used, combining quantitative and qualitative methods
to obtain a comprehensive view of the phenomenon. This mixed-methods approach allows for
capturing the complexity of the topic of digital educational content curation in the educational
field. As Cadena-Iñiguez et al. (2017) point out, "the combination of quantitative and qualitative
methods allows for obtaining a comprehensive and detailed view of the current state and the
challenges and opportunities in this area. The methodology employed combined quantitative and
qualitative approaches, using surveys, interviews, and a guide for analyzing the product of the
activity. The quantitative data obtained from the application of the instruments were processed
using percentage calculations supported by Microsoft Excel, while the interviews and
observations were analyzed using content analysis techniques. The results revealed both strengths
and weaknesses in the curation of digital content by the natural science teachers, providing a
detailed view of the current situation in Educational District 18-03 of Villa Jaragua. Based on the
